Dr Daud Munir specializes in corporate and commercial matters, regulatory and public policy affairs, as well as cross border and international law matters. He has represented and advised clients and organizations across a diverse set of industries, including finance and banking, infrastructure and construction, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, transport and aviation, shipping, media, higher education and non-profits as well as information technology. He has strong expertise in PPPs as well as in infrastructure and project finance.
Before relocating to Pakistan, Dr Munir was practicing law at the New York office of Covington & Burling, a global law firm with offices in United States, Europe, East Asia, Africa and the Middle East. At Covington, he represented and advised clients (including Fortune 500 companies) on transactional and corporate matters. As member of the firm’s international practice group, he advised clients on a number of cross-border transactions. He also advised foreign governments on public policy and regulatory matters, including a Middle Eastern government on the regulatory framework of special economic zones and the design of the legal infrastructure for new economic cities. In addition, he also advised international organizations on international law and related matters, including a client that participated in UNFCCC negotiations leading up to the Paris Agreement of 2016.
